Leading mnufacturer of advanced nonwoven materials
Technical Fibre Products is a leading nonwoven manufacturer, offering a broad range of high quality, technically advanced nonwovens which can be customized to meet specific application requirements. This range of nonwovens encompasses, amongst others, carbon, aramid, glass, thermoplastic and metal coated nonwovens. This diversity of fiber type and associated properties enables TFP’s nonwovens to be used in a wide variety of applications. These include; delivering a high quality & functional surface finish in composites, providing passive fire protection, as well as offering solutions for power generation and thermal insulation. TFP have also recently extended their capability to include lamination, enabling TFP to add value through bonding of multi-layer structures, powder addition and compression.
TFP manufacture Optiveil™, Optimat® and Tecnofire® materials which are specifically designed for the surface engineering of composites. Optiveil™ and Optimat® are the ideal choice for composite surfacing solutions. The exceptional uniformity of fiber dispersion and resin uptake delivers a high quality surface finish whilst fiber type can be selected to impart additional functionality such as conductivity, EMI shielding and corrosion & abrasion resistance. Tecnofire® also provides surface functionality, delivering highly effective passive fire protection for composites without compromising the integrity of the structure.
TFP’s latest developments include the world's lightest nonwoven carbon veil at 2 g/m². This and TFP’s other ultra lightweight materials are the ideal candidates for use as a carrier or support for fragile materials or adhesive films, facilitating uniform application of the adhesive with a minimum associated weight addition. New developments also include an extended range of lightweight thermoplastic veils including PEEK, Nylon, Polyester, PEI & PPS. TFP’s thermoplastic veils can improve the fracture toughness of a composite by reducing microcrack propagation when incorporated as interlaminar layers.
At TFP, a key part of the ethos is working in partnership with customers to develop solutions for technically demanding challenges. TFP’s expertise is drawn from an extensive knowledge of working with a wide range of polymers, particulates and speciality fibers. This experience, combined with the utilization of an in-house metal coated fibers production capability, ensures the continuation of a 28 year tradition of delivering customized material solutions for customers.
